The KAIROS Blanket Exercise is an interactive, experiential teaching tool for youth and adults. The Exercise helps participants understand the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. This version is an adaption of the Fourth Edition KAIROS script, for inclusion in the It’s Our Time First Nations Education Tool Kit.
This two-hour participatory workshop will help participants understand how colonization of the land we now know as Canada has impacted the people who lived here long before settlers arrived. Through this exercise, participants will explore the nation-to-nation relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada, how this relationship has been damaged over the years, and how they can work toward reconciliation.
